Image-guided radiation therapy technology
Image Guided Radiation Therapy, referred to as IGRT, is the combination of image guidance system, intensity-modulated radiation therapy, and electronic imaging system to verify the treatment in order to reduce the treatment programs have differences. In radiation therapy even if there is a good fixation device, able to combine comfort and maintain the consistency of the location of daily treatment, but patients receiving radiation therapy, there may be a result of weight loss or change in tumor volume, resulting in the original positioning of radiation therapy deviation of the treatment position, thus leading to tumor radiotherapy dose error. The IGRT can reduce this error, to further ensure accurate dose to cover the treatment of tumors in the range and reduce normal tissue damage and improve outcome of the treatment.
